But with the "green" movement well underway, the cloth diapers are gaining ground, and, if you are like many parents, you can at least consider them. There are five types of cloth diapers: drop-down or flat, prepleted, equipped or moulded, all in one and diaper systems (sometimes called pocket diapers). Here is the caca in each: With each of the following types of diapers, you will also need to wear waterproof pants: The diapers deployed are rectangles of flat tissue that folds to fit the shape of your baby, holding them instead with diaper pins. The prepleted diapers are also rectangular, but by the way they are bent, they have extra layers in the center. As diapers deployed, they also require pinning. The sharp or shaped diapers are more contoured as disposable, with a narrow crotch and wide wings that wrap the baby's waist. Some require diaper pins, but others have velcro bras or snaps. They can also have elastic in the waist and legs, and a more absorbing layer in the center. With shaped diapers, you have to buy different sizes as your baby grows. These types of cloth diapers do not require waterproof pants: Everything in itself combines the diaper and the outer waterproof cover in one piece, so the diaper is a one-step procedure. They are suitable for quick changes in the march and, with an extra diaper inside, can work well during the night. However, they are bulky and thick, so do not dry quickly after washing. And you may need to buy bigger sizes as your baby grows. Diagnostic systems, sometimes called pocket diapers, are the most expensive fabric option. They include a nylon or polyester-resistant cover that inserts a folded diaper or a washable coating. The outer coating comes in a range of sizes to accommodate baby growth. Velcro bras or multiple rows of snaps (for different settings) keep the lining closed. The type of cloth diaper you choose (as well as if you go with fabric at all) is a matter of personal preference. If you choose cloth diapers, you'll need two to three dozen to start with, more than six to ten waterproof outer pants. If you go along the path of everything in a diaper system, having 8 to 10 by hand should be enough. Buy two or three dozen system inserts. Search online to find the most competitive prices.
